On March 15, after a nearly twenty-year break, Kaspar Bindeman returns to the Latvian popular music scene with a grand performance at the Palladium concert hall to celebrate the release of his long-awaited studio album. Along with a large band of musicians from around the world, the show will also feature special guests, several of whom have played an important role in Kaspars' career — Igo, Aigars Grāvers, Horens & The Hobos, guitarists Edgars Rubenis and Mārcis Vasiļevskis, LNOB prima donna Inga Šļubovska, as well as secret surprise guests.

 

Kaspar "Toro" Bindeman is a multi-instrumentalist, singer, composer, producer, DJ, actor, director, artist, and activist who lives in Barcelona. Born in Riga into a family of artists, he began his creative career at an early age. He graduated from Brigitta Vīnšteine's percussion class and Pēteris Vasks's composition class, also studied design, painting, drawing, and acting. At the age of 16, he began a professional creative career, founding his first psychedelic rock band, Businessman (Peterson). At the age of 18, turned to a solo career and was soon ranked among the best guitarists in Latvia. At the age of 20, founded the all-star band Kaspar Bindeman & The Old Soldiers, which included such heavyweights of Latvian popular music as Vilnis Krieviņš and Eduards Glotovs (Remix), Juris Kulakovs (Pērkons), Maija Lūsēna (Zodiaks), Ainars Virga (Līvi), and others.

 

For almost three decades, has built a successful career in his homeland as a musician, director, actor, and producer. He has worked in advertising, written music for theatre, cinema, TV, and other events, acted in films and theatrical productions. His work has been nominated for and awarded at both national and international festivals. He has been considered one of the most eccentric and scandalous Latvian style icons.

 

In 2006, he moved to Barcelona and started everything from scratch, including the fifth attempt at recording an album, traveling around the world and gathering session musicians from all continents. In 2021, achieved significant success as an actor and musician in Spain, playing the role of Ilya Telegin in A. Chekhov's play "Uncle Vanya" at the prestigious Teatre Lliure. The performance was recognized as one of the ten best productions of the season in the country.

 

During his career, he has shared the stage with such international artists as Karl Bartos (Kraftwerk), B.o.B., Lloyd, Phillip Boa, Smokin Beats, Mad Professor, U-Cef, State of Bengal, and others.
