LINDA LEEN PREPARING A NEW SOLO ALBUM AND CONCERT – DEMO

Linda Leen has begun working on her fourth solo album and will perform the new songs at her annual Febraury 14th concert at the Palladium Riga.


Linda Leen’s Valentine’s Day concerts have drawn audiences to the Daile Theater (2009), Splendid Palace (2010), Arena Riga (2011), and Palladium Riga (2012) and have become a musical tradition. This tradition will continue in 2013 for the fifth time at the Palladium Riga concert hall.

The main idea of the DEMO* concert is to reflect one of the stages of the development of a song from an idea to a recording; to DEMOnstrate the composer’s raw compositions- without audio mixing, re-mastering or studio layering. The concert will reflect the beginnings and contextual direction of the new album.

Linda Leen: “This summer, working on various musical projects, I met young, talented musicians from Latvia and Copenhagen that are studying in the best institutions of higher education for contemporary music in Europe. This cooperation created an inspiration platform for my new musical ideas. Already at the first creative workshop in Cinevilla, our mutual chemistry bore a surprisingly original sound for new songs. It’s really great!”

*DEMO – a song’s demo (shortened from the word “demonstration”) version is a musical idea recorded for reference and has not yet been released. By making a demo, a musician prepares their music for recording on an album by recording an example of ideas for producers or other artists.
