Insomnia: The Beginning

October 19th 19.00 pm Concert hall “Palladium” will host the culmination concert of Riga A Cappella festival “Insomnia: Beginning”. With great artist participation and a specially crafted program, the concert will offer a new identity to the vocal music movement in Latvia.

The main artists of the concert are the youthful and new vocal group INSOMNIA.The group applies itself through a diverse program - "Insomnia: The Beginning". Famous compositions of Latvian and foreign authors with unique jazz, pop and gospel arrangements will be heard at the concert.

The vocal group INSOMNIA is a youth energy bundle featuring ten young, talented, music-loving people who, through a cappella and other genres of music, are able to create something unique. This name embodies the power and energy the band brings to their listeners.

The youthful energy and purposefulness has made it possible for them to compete internationally, winning the second place in one of the world's leading a cappella competitions - the Moscow Spring A Cappella Festival 2019. On August 7, at the Three Raimondi & Insomnia Concert, the band had the honor of performing together with maestro Raimonds Pauls.

From October 16 to 20, the Riga A Cappella Festival will feature live performances by unique artists and new musical talents from around the world. The festival will highlight the diversity of the cappella genre in its program, with concerts featuring music of various time periods and styles in outstanding performance.

Many world famous artists have performed at the festival so far - “The Real Group”, “The Swingles”, “Voces8” etc., as well as the best Latvian vocal ensembles and choirs. The Riga A Cappella Festival is organized to promote excellence and excellence in music, to develop a cappella singing in Latvia. Riga's A Cappella Festival forms a New Identity for the Vocal Music Movement in Latvia and shows the A Cappella Singing Tradition as a Modern and Contemporary Art.
