The promising Latvian indie folk band Momend will perform as the warm-up act for Ewert and The Two Dragons show at the Palladium concert hall on the 1st of March.

„We are very happy and proud to be given this opportunity to perform with Ewert and The Two Dragons. They have proven that no matter where you come from it is possible to be really successful. Their achievements inspire and encourage many young Baltic artists, including us, therefore this show is even more special to us,” says Momend’s singer and songwriter Kārlis.

Momend is an indie/folk band, created in late 2009 as a duo of Kārlis Strūbergs and Normans Bārbals. After several line-up changes Jurģis Priedītis and Elvijs Pārpucis were added to the current line-up, thus creating a more nuanced, dynamic and advanced sound.

In spring of 2011 Momend won several contests as the best emerging artists of Latvia which allowed them to perform at Latvian and foreign festivals. Their debut record “Episodes of Trust” was released in June 2012 under the independent “I Love You Records” label.

Bruno Roze, founder of the “I Love You Records”: “I think that Momend is one of those emerging Latvian bands with live performances as their forte. We noticed the band several years ago when they took part in our Open Mic contests. Since then Momend have changed a lot, and it makes me think that their future could be even more successful. I personally recommend taking this opportunity to see them live. ”
