ONE OF THE ALL TIMES FAMOUS BALKAN MUSICIANS GORAN BREGOVIC TO PERFORM AT PALLADIUM RIGA ON NOVEMBER 16

After a several year pause, Goran Bregovic  is back in Latvia in order to perform his latest “Champagne for Gypsies” concert programme at the Palladium concert hall on November 16, informs the organiser representative Uģis Polis.

The hot tempered musician has already performed three unforgettable shows in Latvia that were completely sold out each time. His new concert programme “Champagne for Gypsies” can best be described as “there is no party like a Goran Bregovic party”. Co-recorded with the prominent musicians “The Gypsy Kings”, the entire programme will be accompanied by Gorans “Wedding and Funeral Orchestra”.

Goran Bregovic is a musician of Serbian descent – a real Balkan legend. He’s also the region’s most acclaimed film music composer, having written music for more than 30 productions.  Beginning his career as a guitar player in an Italian strip club, in the 70’s Bregovic formed the famous rock band Bijelo Dugme (White Button); having played with the band for more than 10 years, he is currently performing as a solo artist.

The album “Champagne for Gypsies” was created in reaction to the recent Roma unrest in Europe: being exiled from France and Italy, their homes are being burned down in Hungary, the Roma are being subject to increasing violence in Serbia and other European countries. “Gypsies are not a problem of this world, they are talent of this world. This album is meant to remind us of our favourite musicians who left a trace in popular culture around the world”says Bregovic.

Tickets are available starting from October 1st in all Biļešu Serviss box offices. Only the Palladium registered users can purchase the concert tickets with a 20% discount in the first sales week.*
